South Carolina Campground to Host Heart Health and Community Event

An RV was destroyed and a home damaged in Port Charlotte, Florida, on Sunday afternoon. The fire started around 2:30 p.m. on Sansedro Street. Firefighters arriving on scene found the RV fully engulfed in flames, with the fire extending into the attached garage. Crews contained the fire to the garage, preventing it from spreading into living areas. No one was home at the time, and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is undetermined.

Vixen Composites, part of the Airxcel family, has expanded its line of engineered composite panels for RVs and trailers. The new products, introduced at the Airxcel 2026 Product Showcase in Elkhart, Indiana, include composite roof and floor panels, ramp door panels, slide-out floor systems, and fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP) products. They aim to reduce weight, improve moisture resistance, and enhance durability. The lineup features a 5/16-inch composite sandwich panel with a closed-cell PET core, a one-piece ramp door panel, a slide-out composite floor, and six FRP options: FibroGloss, FibroElite, FibroMax, FibroSupreme, FibroPlus, FibroFlex, and FibroSharp. The showcase is by invitation only.

The West Feliciana (La.) Parish Council approved a rezoning request Aug. 10 for a proposed recreational vehicle park on U.S. 61 at Wakefield, according to The Advocate. The zoning change met with both opposition and support from area residents, and the Planning and Zoning Commission had recommended denying the request. Emile Marchive III told the council he planned to develop a multi-million-dollar luxury RV park on 99 acres of his 985-acre property, including a 50-60-acre fishing lake, in three phases, starting with 16 concrete parking pads for RVs.

Unhitched Management, the hospitality and operations division of Unhitched RV, has assumed management of the Houston/Med Center KOA Holiday, a 165-site RV community at 2919 W Orem Drive in Houston, Texas. Effective Jan. 1, 2026, the company oversees daily park operations, guest services, and property improvements. The campground offers 165 sites, including pull-through RV sites with full 50-amp hookups, tent sites, and cabins. Amenities include a clubhouse, fitness center, heated pool, laundry, free Wi-Fi, and a complimentary shuttle to the Texas Medical Center.

The Capitol Talk podcast by RVBusiness discussed the upcoming Hershey RV Show, scheduled for September 16-20. Participants, including Pennsylvania RV & Camping Association Executive Director Heather Leach, highlighted new OEMs exhibiting and early signs of success. The show, known as America's Largest RV Show, is a key indicator for the RV industry.

At CES 2025 in Las Vegas, the electric motorhome AI-THd, developed by Italian design firm Pininfarina and American startup AC Future, was presented. The model, measuring 6.10 m in length and 3.35 m in height, features slide-outs that expand the interior space to 37 m². It includes solar panels, a water recovery system, an atmospheric water generator, and a solar water heater. The price is 95,000 euros. Models AI-THu and AI-THt were also announced.
