Starting September 20, the Bayinbuluk scenic area in Xinjiang has suspended self-drive tours. The closure is due to road reconstruction on section AK30+300–AK35+700 (Barun Temple area). A pilot self-drive program had been launched on September 13 with a daily limit of 50 vehicles and fees of 65 yuan entry plus 310 yuan for a 5-seat car or 434 yuan for a 7-seat car. Pre-purchased tickets are being refunded.
