Broad Haven Holiday Park expansion refused over landscape and flood risk concerns

Operator of 56 holiday parks, Park Holidays UK, is to be sold to European management company Aermont. Current owner, US-based Sun Communities, expects the deal to close in the second half of 2026 pending approvals.

British company Wellhouse Leisure has unveiled a camper conversion based on the electric Kia PV5 van. The model features a pop-up roof by Drivelodge, providing an extra sleeping area. Inside, it includes foldable and removable Schnierle seats, a kitchen module with electric or gas hob options, water systems, and an auxiliary electrical system with a lithium battery and solar panel charging capability. Prices start at £53,500 (approx. €61,870) for the 52 kWh battery version and £54,500 (approx. €63,000) for the 71 kWh version.

St Helens Council has approved a planning application to convert a former horse manège at Heathfield Farm in Widnes into storage for up to 22 touring caravans. The site, which had been used informally as a car park since 2019, will now serve as secure caravan storage. The planning officer determined the change would not harm the area's visual appeal or residents' tranquillity, and the Highways Advisor raised no objection, noting no increased risk to highway safety. Strict conditions have been attached to the permission, including limiting use to caravan storage only.
