An Australian EV owner named Kay converted a secondhand 2022 Citroën ë-Dispatch into what she says is one of Australia's first electric camper vans. On a 3.5-week round trip through the Outback to Lake Eyre / Kati Thanda and Marree, she reported energy costs more than three times lower than those of her friends in diesel vehicles. The van has a 75 kWh battery and supports DC fast charging up to 100 kW; range reaches up to 320 km on a good day. The conversion uses a modular layout with lightweight removable components, including a sofa bed, space for e-bikes, induction cooking gear and a fridge-freezer powered by a 2.4 kWh portable battery. Kay charged at public stations and caravan parks, where she plugged into 15-amp power at no extra cost while paying for a site.
