Second camper conversion
46-year-old comedian Hideaki Murata of the duo Toro Salmon announced on his YouTube channel on the 19th that he had completed a second interior customisation of his Toyota HiAce camper. The work was carried out by KATO MOTOR (Niigata Prefecture, Tsubame-Sanjo) and took about seven months.
What changed
- Front butterfly seats were installed, transforming into a bed over 2 metres long and allowing a child seat to be fitted.
- An air conditioner was mounted, running on a 400 Ah lithium-ion battery and capable of cooling the cabin for over 6 hours with the engine off.
- The standard navigation system was replaced with a cassette deck.
Murata said he ordered lithium batteries for the first time to use the air conditioner and other appliances without external power. In 2023 he had already converted his camper at KATO MOTOR, and now decided to refine it for comfortable remote work.
