Simon John Turner, 49, from Weymouth, pleaded guilty to three counts of fraud by false representation. Between 2018 and 2019, while living in a caravan, he befriended a man in his 60s and defrauded him of £53,046 for non-existent caravans and £61,025 for a fake mortgage investment. He also took £76,239 from two other victims for a caravan that was never delivered. Turner was sentenced on 22 April 2025 at Reading Crown Court to 10 years in prison for these and additional frauds in Swindon and Reading.

Sevenoaks council granted a temporary stay to a traveller who tarmacked a field and brought in caravans. A court ruled eviction would breach his human rights, giving him 56 days until June 2, after which he must remove caravans and restore the field by August 10.

A Peugeot Boxer camper van and two bicycles were stolen from the Long Harry parking area in Savernake Forest. The theft occurred on April 6 between approximately 2:30 PM and 6:50 PM; police are investigating and seeking witnesses.
