José Luis Osella, a 54-year-old veterinarian, has paused his career of more than three decades and set off on a trip across Argentina in a camper he built himself. According to some sources, he closed his clinic in Mar de Ajó; according to others, he merely put his work on hold. Osella designed and built a 2-by-3-meter living module equipped with a kitchen, shower, and double bed.
The project, named Refugio Orión, weighs about 1500 kg and includes solar panels, a shower, and a dry toilet. The trip began on June 29, 2025; the route, per one account, includes Córdoba, San Luis, San Juan, Catamarca, northern provinces, Misiones, and a return via the Litoral, while another says he chose a northern direction to avoid snowfall. Osella travels alone, does not rule out part-time work, but his main goal is a break from professional routine.
