Rémi Boukli, a 35-year-old engineer from France, spent about eight months and €20,000 converting a used Renault Trafic into a camper. According to one source, he is from Roquemaure; according to another, from Le Gar. During the work, he removed leftover tile adhesive, installed windows, insulation, a pull-out seat, a kitchenette with shower and refrigerator, as well as solar panels.
The camper features a double bed, kitchen, refrigerator, and solar panels providing up to ten days of autonomy. The vehicle is 5.4 meters long. For legal use in France, a special VASP permit is required to confirm compliance with technical standards. Boukli has been renting out the vehicle since June.
