The first draft of Piombino's general urban traffic plan (Pgtu) has been presented to the municipal council, introducing restrictions on motorhome parking in sensitive environmental and monumental areas. The plan also proposes alternative equipped parking areas with full services for tourists. It addresses citizen reports on parking shortages and traffic congestion in residential and peripheral zones. Following political and technical review, the municipality will hold consultations with neighbourhoods and trade associations before drafting an operational plan.
