On August 18, the environmental protection unit of the National Republican Guard (GNR) in Setúbal district carried out an operation in the municipality of Sesimbra to curb illegal camping and caravanning. The inspection resulted in 18 citations for motorhomes parked in unauthorized locations.
The operation took place during a period of high tourist flow. GNR noted that such checks aim to ensure compliance with rules and protect natural and public areas.
