The city of Zlín, Czech Republic, is introducing parking restrictions for vans and caravans in the Jižní Svahy district starting May 4. According to the city administration, all vehicles longer than 5 meters, as well as all caravans and camping trailers, are banned from public parking lots throughout the housing estate. An exception is made at the Okružní – Torzo parking lot, where vans longer than 5 meters may still park, but caravans and camping trailers remain prohibited.
The measure is aimed at combating so-called 'wild parking' and freeing up spaces for local residents. City spokesperson Tomáš Melcer confirmed the ban, while Deputy Mayor Michal Čížek described it as a campaign promise.
