Zlín bans van and caravan parking in Jižní Svahy district

The city of Třebíč has leased a plot in Hrádek park for a caravan selling coffee and snacks. The caravan had operated there during the Christmas season and will now be open from May 2025 until the end of 2026. The decision follows a public survey in which residents expressed a desire for the service in summer as well. The caravan will not be open daily but on specific days; no additional seating is added to preserve the park's character.

On Wednesday, Czech-Australian traveler Antonín Růžek gave a three-hour talk in Kolín about his solo Africa journey in a motorhome. He covered 45,000 km through 14 countries over 18 months. A motorhome overturned into a ditch on the Fulnek-Vrchy road in the Czech Republic. The driver sustained minor injuries, and firefighters extracted a 10-kilogram gas cylinder from the vehicle and stabilized it.

A new paid service station for caravans and motorhomes is being built on the outskirts of the Bobrky industrial zone in Vsetín, opening summer 2026. It will offer chemical toilet dumping, fresh water, and electricity hook-up. Cost: 816,445 CZK, partly funded by the Zlín Region.
