A journalist who drove a Volkswagen California for several thousand kilometers concluded that the top Ocean version is less practical than the cheaper Beach Camper. In the Ocean, the kitchen unit with a single small gas burner and tiny sink is nearly unusable for cooking and washing dishes, and the built-in cabinets make it hard to stay organized. The Beach Camper, which is 50,000 zlotys cheaper, features a pull-out gas stove from the trunk, which is more convenient, and allows for a fifth passenger. The journalist also notes that the Ocean requires hooking up to electricity and is not suitable for off-grid camping, while the Beach Camper has an additional 40 Ah LiFePo battery.
