Volkswagen has introduced the Generation special edition of the California Ocean camper. It features exclusive design, enhanced equipment and three engine options: a 2.0 TDI diesel (150 hp), a 2.0 petrol (204 hp) and a plug-in hybrid PHEV (245 hp, electric range up to 95 km). In Germany, prices start at 91,309 euros.
Mercedes-Benz has presented an updated version of the Marco Polo camper based on the Clase V. It includes a new pop-up roof with improved insulation, the MBUX system for controlling camper functions via smartphone and optional AIRMATIC air suspension. The starting price is 100,000 euros, significantly higher than the Volkswagen California (75,000–85,000 euros), but consistent with its premium positioning.
The Volkswagen California remains a benchmark in the European camper segment. It offers a wide range of versions from the base Beach to the fully equipped Ocean. For the first time, the lineup includes a hybrid version with zero-emission capability. The base price exceeds 80,000 euros, which is more than many full-size motorhomes.
