In 1958, UK's Bluebird Caravans launched the Highwayman motorhome at £870, making it the cheapest motorized sleeping vehicle. In 1967, it was sold in the US as the Sunbeam Funwagon, but failed to gain traction. Despite global success and a claimed 65% market share, the model remained rare in America.
