In the city of Nakadori (Aomori Prefecture), the Yurappaku Cabin hotel, consisting of three trailers, has opened on the grounds of the Yurappaku center. The facility began operations on the 27th. The trailers are residential modules on truck platforms, equipped with wheels, a compact toilet, water supply, and gas.
During normal times, they are rented out as hotel rooms (up to 4 people), and in the event of natural disasters, they can be moved to areas with many elderly residents, such as Kodomari, to be used as evacuation shelters. Each module has an area of about 16.6 square meters, including a living-dining area, bathroom, and bedroom. Maximum capacity is 4 people (2 adults, 1 child, 1 preschooler). The cost of accommodation starts from 7000 yen per night for one adult. The project aims to compensate for the shortage of lodging in the city.
