New free motorhome stopover opens in Maël-Carhaix, Brittany

The municipality of Grandvilliers (Oise) has launched a feasibility study to relocate its motorhome parking area. The new site is planned near the leisure zone, with construction expected to start in 2027.

Approximately 150 caravans have set up camp on the airfield in Fayence without authorization. Local authorities have declared the occupation illegal and plan to take action.

Auto Plus has compiled a ranking of the most reliable motorhomes for 2026. The majority of models are built on Fiat Ducato, Ford Transit, and Mercedes Sprinter chassis, which are considered industry benchmarks for reliability.

The Suzuki Every, a Japanese kei-car measuring 3.4 meters in length, is offered in a version with minimal equipment for overnight stays for two people. It is powered by a 660 cc petrol engine (49 or 64 hp), with a CVT and optional all-wheel drive. Priced at around €11,500 in Japan, but without full outfitting. Due to safety homologation issues, the model is unlikely to reach Europe.

In Entrelacs (Savoie), about 250 caravans without notice occupied a private agricultural field. The municipality contacted the prefecture and the agglomeration to arrange waste bins and address water supply issues, which may come under strain. The group is expected to stay for several days.
