In Portugal, a new motorhome park has opened 750 metres from Burgau beach near Lagos. The Área de Serviço para Autocaravanas (ASA) in Quinta de Santo António has 54 pitches and is the first in the Algarve operated by the European network Camping-Car Park, which has over 700 sites across Europe.
The overnight fee is 20 euros, and booking is available via the website and mobile app. Facilities include water, waste disposal, electricity, laundry and a security system. This is the network's fourth site in Portugal (172 pitches in total), and the company plans to expand. The opening comes amid growing motorhome tourism in Portugal and efforts to combat illegal parking.
