Yiquanhu Lake: 'Camping+' model sparks tourism growth

In Hengyang, Hunan province, a local resident encountered a traveler from Jiangxi province who was heading to Tibet in a homemade three-wheeled motorhome. The encounter was recorded on video and shared on social media. The vehicle is a converted three-wheeled motorcycle with a living module.

Xiaomi has introduced the SkyNomad sub-brand and its first model, the N90 — an extended-range hybrid SUV. The 5.28 m vehicle features a 1.5 L turbo generator and two electric motors (422 hp). Electric range is reported as 370–500 km (sources vary), total range over 1500 km. The cabin transforms: front seats rotate 180°, center console slides on rails. Available in 5- and 7-seat configurations. The Camping Edition adds a pop-up roof, sleeping space, and awning mounts. Smaller N70 and N70 Max models are also planned.

Xiaomi has filed for registration of the Pengcheng N90. The vehicle is available in standard and camper versions with a pop-up roof, 1.5-liter hybrid, and an electric range of up to 370 km.

Ulanqab (Inner Mongolia) sees a rise in motorhome camping as a way to escape summer heat. In July 2025, the campsite at Jining International Leather City hosts visitors from across China. The campsite opened in late July 2025 and was upgraded in April 2026 with additional water points, toilets, showers, laundry, food stalls, and a WeChat service group. Plans include further expansion and separate zones for camper vans and motorhomes.

On July 7, 2026, about 700 motorhomes gathered at the Yijia RV campsite in the Baili Dujuan Scenic Area, Bijie City, Guizhou Province. The gathering coincides with the minor heat (Xiaoshu) solar term and is part of the local government's summer tourism development initiative.
