Quiet RV camping and lake recreation await at this beautiful Georgia state park

The only surviving example of a caravan designed by General Motors chief engineer Elias J. Premo in 1938 has been put up for sale. Premo used the caravan only about five times with his family due to his workload, after which it was stored in a hangar for decades, preserving its original condition. After 11 years on display at the Volo Museum, it was listed on eBay for €27,600.

A Newsweek study found that the average weekend camping cost at US national parks ranges from $218 to $439. Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming is the most expensive at $439, followed by Olympic National Park in Washington at $369. The most affordable parks include Hot Springs in Arkansas ($218) and Great Smoky Mountains ($240).

Clarinda, Iowa, held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Schenck Lake RV park and dog park. In Sunman, Indiana, 33-year-old Tyler Downing faces arson and criminal mischief charges after a camper fire. Police responded around 11 p.m. to a fully engulfed 2017 camper. The suspect fled before officers arrived but was located nearby and taken into custody without incident.

Highland Ridge has introduced the Open Range travel trailer, measuring nearly 12 meters in length and expanding via four slide-outs when parked. Weighing over 4,000 kg, it requires a pickup truck with a payload capacity of about one ton. The interior includes a living room, kitchen with island, master bedroom, bathroom, and a separate room that can serve as a children's room or office. It features two air conditioners, a heating system, a 200-watt solar panel, and TravelLINK Smart RV control via a mobile app.
