Japanese company Sanco has released a square mini rice cooker for single servings, designed for use in vehicles. The device, the size of a bento box, consumes about 185W, allowing it to be powered by a 300–500Wh portable power station. It cooks 0.5–1 go (approximately 75–150g) of rice in 20–35 minutes. It can also prepare takikomi-gohan (mixed rice) with canned goods and vegetables. The product is positioned as a solution for hot meals during car camping trips.
