A Friday-to-Sunday motorhome route runs from Charlotte through the High Country to Asheville. The route covers about 180 miles out and 130 miles back. As of early October, 458 of the Blue Ridge Parkway's 469 miles are open again after Helene. Julian Price Campground closes for the season on 25 October, after which full-hookup sites near Blowing Rock and Boone are recommended. Tunnels north of Asheville have a 13-foot clearance at the edge, and motorhomes over 28 feet are not allowed past the gate at Grandfather Mountain.
