A two-day camper van itinerary in Shiga Prefecture has been published, covering the Metasequoia avenue in Makino and Keisoku-ji temple. The route includes Chikubushima island, accessible only by boat, and the Nagahama Daiko and Ogoto hot springs. Parking at Keisoku-ji during the autumn leaf season requires advance booking.
