The Palatinate region, especially the Rhine plain, has numerous quarry lakes that attract visitors on hot days. At the 137th Travemünder Woche in Lübeck-Travemünde, the 'Rollin Free' campervan for wheelchair users was unveiled. Developer Linus Oehme, a 29-year-old from Lübeck with a progressive muscle disease, built the vehicle based on his own needs. The van features a ceiling lift, a cassette lift at the entrance, a wheelchair space on the passenger side, and weighs under 3.5 tonnes, making it drivable with a standard class B license. Since August 2025, the vehicle has been registered and available for rental.

Volkswagen has updated its flagship camper Grand California with LiFePO₄ batteries and solar panels. Two packages are now available in Germany: lithium batteries only from €833, and a full set with solar panels from €1,720 to €2,326 depending on vehicle length. Norwegian prices have not yet been announced.

The Olderaan-La Croix family, operators of the Donnersberg campsite in Gerbach, have invested every euro into its renovation. For the new season, a multisport court for football and basketball with a small grandstand has been installed, along with a fountain park that is illuminated and accompanied by music on Saturdays.

Fritz has released a lab update (version 8.24-134518) for the FritzBox 6850 5G v2 router, designed for use in motorhomes and campers. The update was released in July 2026, at the height of the travel season. The new firmware fixes three known issues: installation error due to incorrect file selection (requires unpacking the ZIP and selecting the .image file), WLAN instability when using MLO clients (fixed by enabling compatibility option in settings), and temporary white screen display in the interface (fixed by refreshing the page with Ctrl+F5). The router features a Qualcomm Snapdragon X62/X65 modem and supports stable 12V operation, making it popular among travelers.
