Route
A 25-day camper route covers the Croatian coast from Rovinj to Dubrovnik. It includes Rovinj, Pula with its 1st-century Roman amphitheatre, Opatija, Nin, Zadar, Plitvice Lakes National Park (16 lakes, Veliki Slap waterfall about 78 metres high, swimming prohibited), Šibenik, Trogir, Split, the Makarska Riviera, Ston, Korčula and Dubrovnik.
Restrictions
According to Euronews, travelling by camper allows stops in places that would hardly feature on a standard route, but on some stretches of the coast roads are narrow and winding. Parking is allowed only at campsites and specially designated areas, which are sometimes far from historic centres and can be expensive. In high season, especially in July and August, difficulties increase, so spring, early summer or autumn are recommended.
