JR Central and JR East have announced a special overnight train, the 'Tokai Lumiere Express', on the Tokaido Shinkansen line. Departing Tokyo at 22:00 on August 8, 2026, it arrives at Shin-Osaka at 6:59 the next morning.
To adjust the schedule, the train will stop for about 6 hours (from midnight to 6 a.m.) at Gifu-Hashima station. Passengers may remain in their seats during the stop.
Ticket price is 15,000 yen per person. Tickets are sold exclusively through JR Central Tours packages or the JR East Tours website starting July 3.
