In the Netherlands, there is no law requiring motorhome tyres to be replaced after six or seven years, but some insurers consider tyre age when assessing damage. The production date is shown in the last four digits of the DOT code on the sidewall: the first two indicate the week, the last two the year. Tyres older than six years are advised to undergo annual inspection, and after ten years preventive replacement is often recommended. Long periods of standing and low pressure accelerate rubber ageing, so checks are advised when preparing for winter storage.
