French web developer Ronan has been living permanently in a motorhome since spring 2022, traveling across Southern Europe without a fixed route and working remotely via mobile internet. He sold his renovated house near Brest for €112,000, bought a used motorhome for €22,000, and fitted the interior himself for €800.
With a monthly income of €1,600–1,800, Ronan saves €300–400, whereas previously housing costs (water, gas, electricity, and a €480 annual tax) left almost no savings. Experts note that with good preparation, life in a motorhome can cost €500–1,000 per person per month.
