According to Eurostat, EU camping nights reached 413 million in 2025, up 28.5% from 2015, while in Greece they account for less than 1% of total tourism, compared to the EU average of 13.4%. In 2024, Greece had 293 organized campsites with 22,830 pitches and 1,149 cabins, with 65% rated two stars. The new spatial framework for tourism lacks a specific strategy for camping and motorhomes, and law 5170/2025 caused parking confusion, clarified by a police circular in early 2026. About 1,200 motorhomes are registered in Greece, and around 50,000 foreign motorhomes visited in 2024, but no organized camper stops exist.
