Keishin Ishida, 54, a Fujisawa resident, has travelled across Japan with his family in a camper van for more than ten years. In 2018 he switched to a larger model, which he described as his first new vehicle. He uses the camper van for trips, remote work and overnight stays for his children's friends, as well as an emergency shelter. Ishida installed solar panels, an air conditioner and lithium-ion batteries himself to keep the vehicle comfortable year-round.
