Møre og Romsdal 86Three motorhome owners living near Klauvaneset in Bergen have criticized the municipality's parking restrictions, which they say stem from a single neighbor's complaint. They argue the area is used by many groups, including anglers and travelers in regular cars, and that motorhomes are not the main source of litter. Dag Bjørnar Mjelde, head of Tellevik coastal fort, also noted that vandalism has decreased since more motorhomes arrived. The residents suggest providing toilets and waste bins instead of restrictions, some of which have been eased, but the recommendation to impose restrictions on the area managed by the road authority remains.
On August 23, a car with a caravan skidded while changing lanes on E18 in Sandvika, colliding with another car and a barrier. Traffic toward Oslo was fully stopped; two people were checked by medics. The road reopened by 15:34.
Residents of Klauvaneset and nearby areas strongly reacted to an ÅT report, saying the parking ban is based on wrong grounds and that motorhome owners feel mistreated and collectively portrayed as pigs. The municipality will consider measures.
A traffic accident involving three vehicles, including a motorhome and a passenger car, occurred on the Kubbholmleia bridge in Flakstad. Emergency services have responded, and traffic is reduced in the area.
After the neighborhood introduced paid parking, free spaces near Kvaleberg kindergarten in Flintegata became a dumping ground for motorhomes, unregistered cars and rubbish. The kindergarten manager is demanding a change to the parking situation.
The Norwegian Public Roads Administration has rejected a complaint from a local tourism business about alleged illegal overnight stays by motorhomes along the E6. The agency stated that parking in the area is permitted.
