According to data from the Camping-Car Park network, which operates over 800 stopovers and campsites in Europe, around 1.53 million overnight stays were recorded in July–August 2026, up 6% compared to summer 2025. The strongest growth was in Hauts-de-France (+33.7%), Bourgogne-Franche-Comté (+25.8%), Normandy (+23.3%), Brittany (+15.8%) and Grand Est (+14.9%), while Occitanie fell by 11.3% and Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur by 8.7%. Nouvelle-Aquitaine remains the most visited region with 358,262 overnight stays, down 3.8%. Wildfire evacuations in Gironde and Landes led to a 31.5% average drop at six affected stopovers, while the unaffected southern Landes coast saw increases. Advance bookings via the network's app reached 36.2% of total overnight stays (554,300, +15.8%), average stay length rose from 1.52 to 1.55 nights, and the share of foreign visitors reached 37%, up from 32% in 2025.
