Irene and Carlos, who run the TikTok account @unavidacamper, have spent the last three years living in a camper van of just 10 square metres. They shared their costs: monthly expenses range from 500 to 1200 euros per person, excluding the purchase and setup of the vehicle. This includes fuel (150–400 euros), food and utilities (200–350 euros), internet and mobile (30–90 euros). Annual costs for insurance (350–800 euros), maintenance (400–600 euros) and taxes add another 70–120 euros per month.
According to the couple, the main quarrels occur when making route decisions while tired, especially in the evening when deciding where to stop. Unresolved small household issues also trigger conflicts.
