They cite milder weather and lower daily expenses: according to them, groceries and restaurants are cheaper than in France, and seaside pitches are often free.
Savings
Philippe and Michelle Bardou, former farmers from Normandy, have been travelling around Spain for almost ten years. Philippe Bardou estimates that a full tank of fuel costs around 30 euros less than in France. Costs for fuel, maintenance and paid pitches remain, and parking rules vary by municipality.
Infrastructure
According to TF1, around 200,000 French motorhome travellers come to Spain each year. Olivier Eglinseerfer, who rents out 18 motorhomes and campers in Andalusia, notes that Spain continues to invest in infrastructure for motor tourism, while other European countries tighten restrictions.
