Camping Le Garanel in Sommières (Gard department, between Nîmes and Montpellier, 30 km from the sea) has been ranked among the top 100 campsites in France by ACSI. Managers Chloé and Maxence, who took over the former municipal campsite in May 2023, said the exact position is unknown but they are not in the top three. The site has 60 pitches for tents and campervans, with a maximum capacity of 250 guests, averaging 100–150. The ranking is based on guest reviews and inspector visits. The owners noted the season is more difficult than usual due to cancellations linked to heat and fire risks.
