The Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation (BSTDC) has introduced a luxury caravan service with customisable itineraries across Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Nepal. The vehicle seats eight passengers and sleeps four. Destinations already covered include Rajgir, Nalanda, Bodh Gaya, Ayodhya, Varanasi, Kathmandu and Pokhara. The Caravan Patna Darshan package runs from 8am to 8pm and is priced at Rs 16,000. BSTDC charges Rs 75 per kilometre with a minimum booking of 250km a day, giving a basic daily fare of Rs 18,750 excluding 5% GST. Travellers to Nepal must check permits and cross-border requirements in advance.
