Norway debates motorhome parking: free lot criticized, expansion calmed

The municipality of Ringsaker has asked the Norwegian Public Roads Administration to approve signs prohibiting overnight parking and sleeping in motorhomes and caravans at the municipal car park by Jessnes beach. The move follows complaints that long-term parked motorhomes occupy spaces needed for day visitors, especially families with children. The consultation deadline is 3 August.

A man in his 40s from Kvindøl faces multiple charges, including driving under the influence of alcohol. In one incident, he got a motorhome stuck in a parking garage in Sandnes because it was too high.
