New parking restrictions will come into force on Marine Parade in Saltburn from June, affecting motorhome and campervan owners. Redcar and Cleveland Council introduced the measures following resident complaints about long stays, noise, and litter.
Under the rules, vehicles can park only in marked bays from Monday to Saturday, 9am to 5pm, for a maximum of 4 hours, with no return within the next four hours. Motorhomes are banned from parking in unmarked areas at any time.
The cost of implementing the measures, including installing pay-and-display machines and road markings, is reported differently: one source says £23,571, another says over £26,000, and a third says over £28,000. The measures are described as a compromise after plans to ban overnight motorhome parking were dropped in 2024.
