Starting July 7, 2026, all new motorhomes, campervans, and caravans registered in the EU must be equipped with mandatory advanced safety systems. These include automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, driver drowsiness detection, and others. The added equipment is expected to raise vehicle prices by €1,000 to €3,000. The rules also apply to self-built camper conversions if they are registered as new vehicles.
