Since the start of the year, Finland has sharply increased the fuel tax on diesel motorhomes. Many owners, like Jani Karenlampi from Kempele, park their vehicles almost all year, using them only for summer holidays.
According to Karenlampi, the cost of deregistration is 7 euros, which he considers a small price for a "mobile summer cottage." However, larger costs are expected later due to the new fuel tax, making operation significantly more expensive. The tax hike is forcing caravanners to find ways to cut expenses.
