The Loxahatchee Groves Town Council discussed the latest revision of its recreational vehicle ordinance at a workshop meeting on Tuesday, 20 October. The new version raises the acreage threshold for allowing two occupied RVs to 4.5 acres and bars owners from combining allowances from adjacent parcels. Registration applications would need a site plan sketch and utility connections, and occupancy would be capped at 179 days in any consecutive 12-month period instead of six months. The ordinance also adds RV storage rules, enforcement measures and annual utility inspections at certain agricultural RV sites with a potential fee of $150. Council members raised concerns that the acreage limits could affect residents who use RVs for equestrian purposes. The council plans to reconsider the revisions at a future meeting.
