Volkswagen has refreshed the California camper van and base Multivan for the 2026 model year. The key addition is a stationary air conditioning system that runs up to 8 hours using the 19.7-kWh battery of the eHybrid 4Motion plug-in hybrid. The system is exclusive to PHEV models and does not replace the optional fuel-powered auxiliary heater. Other updates include redesigned front lighting and grille, a new Iridium Gray Matte paint option, a revised interior with a 12.9-inch floating infotainment screen, and an enhanced Travel Assist package with traffic light recognition and assisted lane changes. German pricing starts at €66,087 (approx. $75,300) for the California and €57,465 ($65,475) for the Multivan.
