Camping boom in Hesse: almost fully booked, but spots still available

Due to the Corpus Christi holiday, campsites in Hesse are nearly fully booked. According to dpa on June 2, at the popular Edersee only tent pitches are available, which are not reservable in advance. At Rhön-Camping-Park and the campsite at Nidda-Stausee, free spots are only available outside the holiday period. An ADAC analysis shows that a family of two adults and one child pays an average of 37 euros per night, making Hesse the second cheapest federal state in Germany. Price increases are only 2% compared to the previous year, well below the national average of 7%.
