Honda's US division has unveiled the Base Station prototype, the company's first foray into the trailer segment.
Weighing under 1500 pounds (about 680 kg), it can be towed by a compact SUV like the CR-V. The modular interior accommodates up to four people, featuring a fold-down bed and a touch panel control. The base version includes a two-person sleeping area, a roof tent, and air conditioning. Windows can be replaced with modules such as a kitchen or shower. Instead of built-in plumbing, external modular solutions are used. Power comes from rooftop solar panels and a lithium battery.
Estimated price ranges from $20,000 to $40,000. Sales start date has not been announced.
