Malaysia's Transport Ministry reported that more than 1,450 recreational vehicles (RVs), including motorhomes, caravans and campervans, have been registered for private use. The ministry stated that RVs are legally recognised vehicles that can be registered and licensed by the Road Transport Department. The government supports the RV industry as a niche segment with potential to contribute to the automotive value chain and domestic tourism, with local operators and foreign investors involved in manufacturing.
