In September 2026, the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region recorded 27,772 motorhome and camper overnight stays, down 9.9% year on year. The decline follows a 8.7% drop in July–August, while the CAMPING-CAR PARK network reported national growth of 20.2% with more than 704,000 overnight stays. Sainte-Croix-du-Verdon in Alpes-de-Haute-Provence was an exception, with overnight stays up 25.8% to 1,498. Increases were also recorded in Matemale (+64.3%), Bessans (+116.9%) and Murat (+115.1%), which is linked to a shift toward lakeside and mountain destinations.
