Freescape unveils camper van with inflatable side pop-up roof

British camper manufacturer Wheelhome has changed its Dashaway eRC project from a specialized capsule for a Tesla Model 3 into a universal trailer due to a lack of orders. The new Dashaway eCT model, weighing 340 kg, is designed to be towed by any car and will be presented in February 2026. It features a lithium battery, an 18-liter compressor fridge, and a water system.

The German startup Hannes Camper has updated the interior design and introduced new kitchen technology for its camper vans based on the Citroën Jumper and Fiat Ducato. The key innovation is an integrated gas stove with a ceramic glass surface for easier cleaning. The base Viica 54 model, measuring 5.4 meters, starts at 74,900 euros, but the standard battery limits off-grid capability.

The Carstay T-01 electric camper van debuted at the Fukuoka Mobility Show in Japan. It is based on an ELEMO-L commercial van, features a 43.5 kWh battery and a 370W solar panel, and has a starting price of 9.95 million yen. The company also presented a concept for mobile living and production bases, projecting the Japanese camper van market to reach 5 trillion yen by the 2030s.
