In 2025, total sales of self-propelled motorhomes in China surpassed 20,000 units for the first time. Sales of camper vans for short trips rose 85.61% year-on-year, while sales of new energy motorhomes for long-distance travel increased 229%. In the first half of 2025, more than 12,000 self-propelled motorhomes were registered, up 32.6% year-on-year. According to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, there are over 3,100 motorhome campsites nationwide. In June 2025, the Ministry of Commerce and eight other departments issued a notice supporting the development of the motorhome and camping industry.
