China is experiencing a sharp rise in the camper van market, boosting production companies. In Qingdao (Shandong Province), a seaside campsite has opened where tourists can rent camper vans equipped with beds and kitchens.
One manufacturer reported selling 80 units in the first half of 2026, projecting up to 200 by the end of the year. Growth is supported by government measures to stimulate domestic demand, including support for vehicle modification and camper rental. The Ministry of Commerce has introduced support measures, and Qingdao has been selected as a pilot zone for promoting campers.
