China's Ministry of Commerce and seven other agencies on June 23 released a list of 40 cities for a pilot auto market reform program. Yangzhou (Jiangsu province) was assigned the 'RV camping' track — one of only three cities nationwide, alongside Qingdao and Lanzhou. The choice is based on the concentration of RV manufacturing in Chenji town (Yizheng county): three leading factories (SaiDe, WeiHang, LuoManTeSi) produced over 1,200 RVs in 2024 — 10% of the national total. The town has built four campgrounds with 150 parking spaces and a network of supply points converted from idle rural houses. The pilot status will allow Yangzhou to streamline parking permits and utility connections, and lower barriers to RV purchases.
