A barbecue ignited a grassland fire in Ongar, Essex, on July 4 at around 6:35 PM. Fire crews from Ongar and Chelmsford prevented the blaze from spreading to tents, gas cylinders, and vehicles. Officials advised placing barbecues on non-flammable surfaces and dousing them with water before disposal.
